Rupa Nepal is a multidisciplinary project carried out together with the artist Sonia Esplugas. Developed through the NGO Creciendo en Nepal, it was addressed to a group of children and youngsters with limited access to education, and sprung from the interest to learn how they see the world that surrounds them.
Through photo and drawing workshops in Kathmandu, we provided them tools that helped them to express their creative potential. After seven weeks of interaction with them, the resulting art works talk about their dreams, their worries, joys, sadness, or simply about the small things that, day after day, fill their universe.
Rupa Nepal also aimed to spread the voice of these children by showing their drawings and photos through exhibitions and a book, which earnings were destined to cover their basic and educational needs.
